Membership of the Committee is open to all Member Nations and Associate Members of FAO and/or WHO which are members of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, within the geographic location of North America and the Southwest Pacific.

The Coordinating Committee for North America and the Southwest Pacific was established at the ?th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CCA) held in ???? Rome, Italy, in July 1974. Its first Session took place in the ???? same city in March 1976.
